My grandmother passed away a few days ago. I'm glad that she was able to meet Grace before she left this world. I'm glad she is finally resting and is at peace. Right now, I can totally imagine her dancing with my grandfather and playing canasta with her sisters. It's what made her happy. Tomorrow evening is the rosary and Monday is the funeral. It should be an interesting experience with a two year old...especially since both are around her I'm about to fall asleep times. Let's pray that she does well.
I had a stomach virus Tuesday night and onto Wednesday. I barely got Grace to school and I, of course, had to set up something for work, so I dragged myself in. I was able to get it done fast and I was back in bed by 7:45 a.m. I slept hard until almost 1 p.m. I felt better but weaker. Grace did me proud. She was so good and I had no problems getting her into her car seat or getting her into school. My parents were their usual great selves bringing my child home to me in the evening along with soup, which both Grace and I ate for dinner. Again, I reiterate, being a single mom and being sick suck! Make sure to have someone who can help you out! I'm a lucky one. I lost 5 lbs in one day and I'm still not totally up to par in the eating department. I am kind of wary right now.
Grace is doing well. I am hoping she is not going to get sick. She was a bit cranky today and normally that's the precursor to some sort of issue. She has red patches on her knees, elbows and wrists which my sister says is eczema and that it comes with respiratory issues (her boys would get it worse when an asthma attack was coming on). I'm glad we'll be going to see the pulmonologist next week.
Grace is also a Yo Gabba Gabba aholic. She has a shirt that she loves to wear. She does some of the dances and loves to go crazy in the dancey dance part and then flop down on me. She's talking a lot more. She's also "singing". She was "singing" the Sesame Street anthem in the car this morning. It makes me happy.

One of those Days
It was one of those days where my daughter is showing her terrible 2's side. A few hours of whining, crying, throwing tantrums, hitting, pulling hair wears me out...I'm exhausted and I think I've aged a bit. She had a great morning but she didn't get a super long nap....maybe 30 minutes. So, it was understandble. Thank God she fell asleep right after her nebulizer treatment...an hour earlier than she usually falls asleep. I hope she sleeps through the night. She's sleeping so deeply that I keep checking on her to make sure she's okay. I've taken her temperature like 3 times already just to make sure she's not sick. She's started having her hot head sweats. We still haven't figured out what causes it. I think it's uncomfortable for her.
On a brighter note, Grace had a great day yesterday. We went to the Asian Festival and had a great time. The food is soooo good. Grace loved the tea and the potstickers. She is definitely a girl who prefers pork over other meat. She did well this morning too when we went to visit my grandmother in the nursing home. We've been told that she's probably not going to last much longer...they have put her on a pureed diet and she was on oxygen. I just don't want her to suffer anymore. I think she is finally ready to go. I'll miss her but I know she'll be in a better place with my grandfather and her sisters.

Tubes Update
Grace has tubes! It was s super long day. We got up at 5 so she could eat a good breakfast because the latest she could eat was 6 and drink was noon. What totally sucked was that the doctor was an hour behind and so poor Gracie had to wait for an extra hour. She did great walking down the halls and pushing her stroller. She wasn't grouchy despite the fact she hadn't eaten in a long time or had something to drink or a nap for that matter. I was so proud. The pedi ENT said she still had the fluid in the one ear which he got out and they put in the tubes. She has great hearing in the left ear but some loss in the right...not sure why. We are going to explore it more in the months to come. I'm exhausted but glad my girl is okay. I hope tonight will be restful but I'm not sure since she had some trauma. Say a little prayer we both get some sleep tonight.

Health Updates
This has been one of those weeks where you think to yourself, "My poor baby!" We went for our well child visit on Monday and Gracie had a 102 fever and her oxygen levels dropped. She couldn't recover. So....we went home, did a nebulizer treatment that helped tremendously. The mommy in me could't totally relax so I kept checking her 92 levels like every other hour that evening. I stayed home with her on Tuesday just in case and she was great...she even got her synagis which seemed to perk her up despite the pain and stress of the shots. On Wednesday afternoon, we had the squatting and the whining. Sure enough, her oxgen level were down and not coming back up. Again, another nebulizer treatment which seemed to help her once again. She had one more instance that evening but it stablized quickly so I didn't need to do the treatment. Thursday we went to the ENT and we've decided to put tubes in her ears. We're hoping that it will help get rid of all the ear infections and help her with her speech. That's going to happen on February 17th and they are also going to check her hearing. Then, Friday, I get sick. I think I had what Grace had earlier in the week. I have the chills, fever and a sore throat. I have it still today but I'm good when my Tylenol is working. So, it has been one heck of a health week but all in all we're good. Today was pajama day and we watched so many episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba that I'm sure I'll dream about them when I fall asleep. Grace cracks me up doing the arms at the beginning the way DJ Lance Rock does. She also made me laugh watching Finding Nemo when Coral was trying to save her babies and Grace said, "Dooooo! Dooooo!" which translates to goooooo! Man, I love that girl!
